Derek Tassin

Derek Tassin enlisted in the United States Army in June 1998 after playing football at Charleston Southern University. He attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following his Infantryman’s training, he completed U.S. Army Airborne School and the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, Level 1. Subsequently, SFC Tassin was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.

SFC Derek Tassin held positions as an 84mm Carl Gustav Anti-Tank Gunner, Ranger Riflemen, Ranger Rifle Fire Team Leader, and Battalion Retention NCO. SFC Tassin’s career also allowed him to serve in multiple recruiting stations across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and well as parts of Louisiana. As a U.S. Army Recruiter, his positions included Recruiter, Health Care Recruiter, and Station Commander. SFC Tassin is a combat veteran of the Global War on Terror, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a member of HHC, 1ST Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Furthermore, SFC Tassin completed multiple military training courses including; U.S. Army Airborne Course, 75th Ranger Regiment Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, Level 1, 75th Ranger Regiment Pre-Ranger Course, U.S. Army Ranger Course, Javelin Gunnery Course, U.S. Army Airborne Jumpmaster Course, U.S. Army Recruiting Course, Health Care Recruiting Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Leaders Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Leaders Course and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Leaders Course. SFC Tassin has received multiple awards and decorations including the Army Recruiter’s Ring and CSM Glen E. Morrell Award for recruiting excellence. 

Derek Tassin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Governors University in Sales and Sales Management. He is currently working as a licensed Realtor® at Veteran Realty Group in Fort Worth, TX. Derek Tassin is married to Melissa Tassin, formerly of Alvarado, TX. They have two daughters and three sons; Aubrea, Aiden, Creeland, Cade, and Abby. They own Freedom Fireworks L.L.C. and currently reside in Mansfield, TX.
